Planning your visit
Foot access only from Bundeena's eastern headland paths — no vehicle access to the sand. Park in Bundeena village and allow 15–20 minutes on tracks.
Autumn and spring for comfortable walking temperatures. Summer afternoons can be hot on exposed headland tracks.
Jibbon Beach, Jibbon Head loop, and Horderns Beach near the ferry wharf.
Overview
Gunyah Beach lies on the eastern side of Bundeena, tucked away from the main village traffic. Beachfront houses back much of the sand — access is only from a park on the eastern headland.
A good option when you want calm bay swimming without the ferry-wharf crowds. Local surfers occasionally ride here when swells are high enough.
