Access & parking

Curra Moors carpark off Garie Road — same general area as Garie Beach. Waterfall or Loftus entry via Sir Bertram Stevens Drive.

Best season

August–November for coastal heath wildflowers. Summer exposed sections are hot — carry 3+ litres of water.

Overview

Curra Moors Loop explores the park's eastern plateau between Garie Road and the coast. The track crosses open heath, sandstone outcrops and pockets of woodland with views toward the Tasman Sea.

Grade 4 means some steep sections, uneven footing and a full half-day commitment. Fit walkers are rewarded with solitude and wide horizons.

Best time to go

Late winter through spring (August–November) brings spectacular wildflowers — banksias, wattles and heath blooms across Curra Moors.

Summer days are hot on exposed heath. Start early, carry extra water, and avoid the loop in high fire-danger weather.

Preparation

  • Closed-toe shoes with good grip
  • 2–3 litres of water per person
  • Sun hat and sunscreen — limited shade on heath sections
  • Offline map or Wild Walks PDF for navigation
  • Park entry $12 per vehicle per day

— checked against NPWS / BeachSafe where applicable.
